The UK has attractive VC schemes such as EIS, SEIS, VC & SITR for helping SMEs to grow by attracting investment capital. There is no minimum but there is a maximum amount you can raise depending upon which scheme you select. EIS and VCT schemes can attract up to £12m, for SITR its £1.5m and for SEIS the limit is £150,000.
The eligibility criteria includes having an office or other establishment in the UK and the investment must be used for purposes of a “qualifying” trade. Most trades will qualify including the associated R&D.
